NH Architecture is a leading Australian design studio founded on the principles of collaboration and open debate, where architects and designers are united by a commitment to creating outstanding contemporary architecture. The practice was formed in 2004 by Roger Nelson and Lyndon Hayward.

We seek a new expression for architecture as a public construction unencumbered by the traditional and narrow definitions of function or type.NH Architectureis repeatedly called upon to maximise opportunities and resolve constraints that arise in our built environment. NH Architecture is leading the thinking towards integrated and flexible environments and an architecture capable of engaging with the complexities of the contemporary Australian city.

We believe design is no longer the domain of the egocentric architect with a single vision. Instead we believe projects are complex and inclusive, where the architect acts as both creator and mediator, providing the platform for clients, engineers, planners and the broader community to engage fully with the process of design. This collaborative approach also reflects the evolving relationship between governments, authorities and the private sector for the delivery of major infrastructure and partnership projects.

Located in Melbourne, the practice has completed a range of commercial and public projects across Australia and internationally in countries including New Zealand, Vietnam and Malaysia. It is an industry leader in the design and delivery ofcomplex major projects

The NH Architecture studio comprises over 50 staff and is led by four principles, Roger Nelson, Lyndon Hayward, Hamish Lyon and Peter Dredge. At the practice’s centre is a core of resourceful, innovative and skilful practitioners who see no boundaries in realising the expectations of clients.

The practice has extensive expertise in urban design, master planning, architecture, interiors, and graphic design. NH Architecture is renowned for its work in the public realm, mixed-programme developments and in retail architecture

Since its inception, NH Architecture has built an impressive reputation for delivering award winning design solutions that respond to clients’ needs, while overcoming complexities and unlocking opportunities not seen by others. NH Architecture focuses on delivering commercially savvy design with a respect for the cultural, physical and social environment.
