Minifie Nixon Architects
Company Profile

MNA is an internationally recognised, award-winning architectural practice based in Melbourne, Australia. Our work is known for its design quality, imagination and originality. Each project offers an opportunity to pursue new solutions to complex building problems and to provide a particular architectural form that best realises the issues pertinent to that unique set of conditions.

We design buildings and environments that embody our clients’ images and aspirations. Using an intense research process, we explore the ecological, economic, physical and experiential needs of a commission and provide something else as well: a new architecture for each new project.

Our practice has worked with government, public and private sector clients and competition juries to produce a wide range of projects in the educational, state government, local government, corporate, urban design and recreation industries.

Our commitment to innovative, high-quality design and the successful realisation of our clients’ individual requirements has been recognised by the architectural community.

Our design for the Edithvale Seaford Wetlands Discovery Centre for Melbourne Water showcases the comprehensive range of ecological and sustainable design skills that are integral to all our projects.

We received Victorian State Chapter awards from The Royal Australian Institute of Architects for the Victorian College of the Arts Centre for Ideas, Southbank in 2004, and for the Australian Wildlife Centre, Healesville Sanctuary in 2006 which in turn has been awarded the a Victorian State of Design, Premier's Design Award for cultural architecture.

MNA is profiled in the 2005 International Compendium of Notable Architectural Design, 10 x 10, and has participated, through invitation, in two Orleans International Design Conferences in France. We have exhibited, through invitation again, at the Venice Architecture Bienale, the Beijing Architecture Beineale and in the Homo Faber exhibition at the Museum of Victoria.
