Cubofuturism, Zhivskulptarkh, et al.: Designing Utopia

Jean-Louis Cohen, Sheldon H. Solow Professor in the History of Architecture, Institute of Fine Arts, New York University

This first lecture in a three-part series focuses on the period during the Russian Civil War, which ended in 1920, and the early years of the New Economic Policy implemented by Lenin in 1921, during which many architects and artists, including Kazimir Malevich, competed on the cultural stage yet shared the aspiration to the unity of art and architecture.
